Mad Props to everyone here, especially those who took this little competition.  I've tried to entice people both at school and other sonic boards to come join our ranks and start posting their best scores, so perhaps there might be some more competition soon!

I'm surprised there aren't more strats and talk about paths and the like here on the board, though... it'll be interesting to see what I come up against, now that I've got in here and started pushing myself harder.

You said it yourself: it's a competition.  Not everyone cares to spill their strats, and that's perfectly fine.  Personally, I love sharing strats, but I'm holding off until after the next Top Ten list is released.

The most foolproof way to let someone know about your methods is to video them.  That way, you can't be misunderstood.

You can if you do things in your vid that other dont know about. Stuff that looks the same as what there doing, but in fact yields different results.

The last six months have seen much change at TSC. Prominent changes include:

• Addition of ring and score counts to the point scores, dramatically altering the state of play on many games
• The addition of Shadow, Rush and Riders to the rankings

The revealing will start within the next 24 hours. Start speculating, dammit!

The Top Tens begin!

First off is the 10th place for the Periodic chart (which covers the period from the last top ten until now).

TSC’s GREATEST PLAYER #10 (PERIODIC):

Janardan “Rolken” Yri: “He who pwns Stadium and Cult. Cause they can’t play.”

We begin our top ten with the founder of TSC himself, Rolken! Once seen only as the spiritual leader of the site, and the guy who does all the work, Rolken has become a quite valid competitor in his own right, particularly in recent times.

At this point in time, Rolken holds no less than three championships (but the fact that they are Sonic Chaos, Sonic Triple Trouble and Sonic Pocket Adventure, and competition is arguably very low in all three, is irrelevant).

His first stronghold was Sonic Pocket Adventure. Rolken and sonicam have been dueling on this game for as long as it’s been up (except for the maybe-two days that I held it). Constant competition drove Rolken to get still better times, and indeed the total times there are far better than what was believed possible six months ago.

In more recent times, Rolken has turned his attention to Sonic Chaos – where he took on the might TSC’s new powerhouse, eredani, and won – and Sonic Triple Trouble, which was another battle with sonicam for the crown. At current he holds all three, which is the highest high in Rolken’s TSC career.

Not to mention juggling all this with the usual admin duties, constantly improving the site, and having a hot girlfriend, Rolken is more than worthy of a spot in our Top Ten for the last 6 months.

This is difficult to do for Rolken, since most of his records are in divisions with very few players, but I’ll give it a shot anyway.

5th: Team Two Rose (SH) – 4”93 – Just for lol value. This is exactly two frames better than second place, and in reality it is entirely luck (but we’ll pretend I never said that).
4th: Great Turquoise 1 – Sonic (STT) – 0:23 – Because he got it second go. Need I say more?
3rd: Meta Junglira 1 – Tails (STT) – 0:38 – Beats all comers by ten seconds, it was so good it forced sonicam to give up.
2nd: Last Utopia (SPA) – 30”20 – This is a damn good time. I will add no more because I know no more.
1st: Huge Crisis Boss – Sonic (Rush) – 2’05”30 – A record by an entire ten seconds, on a game that’s actually popular! Easy choice for the top spot.

Rolken, theoretically, pretty much kills everyone's chances for the top 10, because he owns many games and is champion of 3 of them.


...so there should be something I'm missing that they're using as a factor as to how someone gets into the top 10 periodic.

That's not exactly true since Mike and Sprint have good chances on the boards, as does Eredani, but this accounts for only 4 of the ten, so whoever else is in the top 10 is beyond me. I still say Marth is on the list.
